Frequently Asked Questions

What is Adult Confessions?

The heart of Adult Confessions are our confession boards, in which you can anonymously post your confessions on a wide range of juicy adult or non-adult topics. Readers can visit our confession boards to find out what kinds of things people need to get off their chests, and then post their anonymous responses to the confessions. If you find that you need to get something off your chest, this is the place to do it. Only the juiciest of secrets hit the front page, so make sure you have something good to tell!

"Secrets are made to be found out with time."  - Charles Sanford

How does it work?

If you have a story, secret, or confession that you'd like to share, simply visit the confession page and confess away! Your post will instantly show up on the main page where everyone can see it. Visitors to Adult Confessions will then be able to upvote your confession (if worthy) making it famous. There is a catch though.. if enough people vote to "remove it," your confession (for whatever reason) is GONZO - instantly! What the threshold for removal is shall remain a secret, but you should know that Adult Confessions is a user moderated and user policed website. If you should find a confession inappropriate, you too can vote to have it removed.

Are my confessions really anonymous?

YES, we don't attach any tracking information to stories, confessions or comments made on Adult Confessions. You will remain 100% anonymous unless you somehow put identifying remarks in your post.

Is everything I do here anonymous?

NO. While we do not attach any tracking information to stories, confessions or comments made on Adult Confessions, unfortunately we are forced to attach an IP Address to any vote done at the bottom of each confession (ie. That's Juicy! / Remove It.) It's the only way we know of - programmatically - to curtail someone from rating a confession over, and over again - known as "ratings spam." If you don't rate confessions or stories you will remain completely anonymous. If you do choose to rate a post, why would you care anyways? After-all, it's a "rating" ..not something you authored.

If I create an account, will I still remain anonymous?

While you can remain 100% anonymous when posting to Adult Confessions (No IP Address is recorded), you may also want to create an account here with an email address to gain more privileges. If that's the case, you can simply create ANY email address ANYWHERE you wish to use in registering your account with us. We recommend hushmail.com. The reason an email address is needed, is for linking the account to the user that has logged in on the system. All account functions (such as lost password reminders, registration, updates ..etc) require that an email is used in the account creation process.

How can you be sure the confessions are real?

We can't. Other than asking that exaggeration be kept to a minimum because the posts are anonymous, we cannot verify the authenticity of any confession made on Adult Confessions.

A confession I read the other day is gone now. What happened?

We scan the boards frequently looking at all new confessions. If a confession is found to have violated the conditions outlined in the Terms of Service then the confession will be deleted. We also use a community reporting feature called (Remove It) which is a clickable link located at the bottom of each confession. Clicking on the (Remove It) link allows visitors to the website to instantly report a confession for removal. When our removal threshold is reached, the post will be removed from our database.
