When I was a kid my best friend's parents got a divorce and his dad moved away. Turns out he was a high school teacher and having an affair with a student. I stopped by one afternoon to see my friend, only to hear from his mom that he was at basketball and wouldn't be back until later.

I don't know if she was just lonely, or if she wanted to see what had led her husband astray, but she invited me in and offered me some cookies and milk. At first we sat at the dining room table, then she invited me to the living room where we sat next to each other on the couch.

The conversation started about school, then shifted to dating and girlfriends. Next thing I know she's talking about how girls my age don't know what they're doing or how to satisfy a man. One thing led to another and we ended up having the best sex of my life that afternoon on her couch.

Shortly after this happened they moved to another town and I didn't see either of them for some time. Years later I ran into my friend's mom at the grocery store and introduced her to my wife. After she walked away my wife looked at me and asked if she was "the one" and I told her yes. My wife ran out into the parking lot and stopped her as she got into here car, gave her a hug, and thanked her for being such a good teacher.

What a weird life this is.
