Well, you gotta find another vampire. Then get him/her/it to drink your blood. And also offer you a taste of thier blood. You also have to convince them not to eat you and that you deserve vampirism, which you don't.

If you wanna be a fake vampire then get all gothy dressed and panit your face white. Only leave the house at night and keep pigs blood in the fridge for when your thirsty. And get a giant banner that says "I'm Fucking Lame" to carry around everywhere.

What do you have to do to deserve vampirism? Is there a written test? The right genetic profile? Hazing? Does being a legacy count?

I don't beleive there are certain prerequisites(sp?) required for acceptance into vampirism. It' basicly up to the vampire to decide if they would want to tolerate you for all of eternaty. Eternal life an damnation arn't exactly gifts to be handed out to whomever wants it.
Then there's the question if the vampire is bound to a House. And if that House has certain rules (which i'm sure it would have).
Vampires are very few and secluded for obvious reasons. They can't be found unless they want to be, so the chance of you coming across one are rather slim.

Well, you have to be bitten by a vampire (buy only on the neck no where else will make you one). You just have to be in the right place at the right time (or wrong place at the wrong time, depends how you look at it) There's a cool show about vampires on on abc at 12:30 (eastern standard time) on weekdays

"How can I become a vampire"...................... ..........You probably understand a "vampire" as the "vampires" are portrayed in Rice novels, or various movies...or as various lunatics and the delusional perceive the notion......similarly as a lot of people, as a literary device to "titilate" the teenagers...............................I will, for a moment, bore you with some little insight.................. Historically and culturally within the folk tradtion a "vampire" is a supernatural malevolent spirit that sometimes comes to inhabit a human body without any of the human consciousness or personality remaining, contrary to what Rice and others would have us belive. Within some Central European folk tradition current perhaps as late as c.1800, Vampires could come to inhabit the bodies of suicides or others who died outside the good graces of established Orthodox religion so their bodies(buried in unhallowed earth - not "blessed") were sometimes "pinned" in their graves via a wooden or iron stake or rod driven thru the corpse. This was, sometimes, if the deceased had accumulated sufficient enemies in their lives, accompanied by the head being struck off and garlic leaves being stuffed into the mouth. I believe the leaves were used because the cloves were still good as food and rural life often contained a strong element of uncertainty which prevented throwing away perfectly good food. Also, it is interesting to reflect that there is no archeological evidence to support these old stories of the "traditional" suicide burial............................................ In the Far East, the spirits which most closely resemble the European version were always demons, like housecats with two tails, or elementals which plagued cursed families, or vengeful witches as in the Japanese Omibaba, or monstrous spider like creatures with human heads that seemed to be drawn to the perhaps fever delirious wives of brit colonials in India, placated with (variously) - pancakes, pilgrimages, and removal to cooler climes.......................................... ............As westerners, we are familiar with Vampires thru Bram Stokers play in the late 19th century, and Varney the Vampire of the "Penny Dreadfuls" of roughly the same period. Shape-shifters(werewolves)and witches were the BIG bugaboos of medieval/early modern western Europe. Stoker's historical 15th century Vlad Tepesz(Vlad the Impaler) was a psychotic "IDI AMIN" of his day, a thug/heretic that modern Roumanians hold out as a tourist attraction.................................... ..............Our "vampires" are romanticized and anthropomorphosized knock-offs of superstitious beliefs that faded as the lights flickered on........................................ Soooooooooooooooooooooooo what you seem to be asking is: How can I romanticize myself in a way that I can be revolting and appealing at the same time? Just be yourself. That is a trick in and of itself. Oh, by the way, no charge for the free education.
