I like to fantasize that I am the human slave in an S&M vampire bordello. I get ravished and bitten all night long.

Why is it pedestrian? Do you know of any vampire bordellos? I don't so they must be fantasy!

Gosh gee, of course it is a "fantasy", that is not the point. The point is that it is pedestrian. It is pedestrian not only because it is common but because it has, uh, "been done". Consider the old chestnut "Dracula" and the encounter of the Jonathan Harker character with Drac's "wives". This particular "fantasy" was published in the 1890's. The unpublished "fantasy" goes back even further(think: succubus). Similar "fantasies" were published as case studies by the German proto-psychiatrist Krafft-Ebbing about the same time. In the "pulp press" the theme is very tired(think: various "True Crime"c. 1947-60;think "Tales From The Crypt"c.1955; think:"Creepy"c.1965; think: "Vampirella"-She was just a little passe' at her debut in c.1969). Then we come to film. Even in the highly censored 1930's, Todd Browning worked the three female vampires into the proceedings. There are certainly other intervening examples(think:various exploitation films of the 50's - 60's; think:the Brit Hammer Films-Chris Lee Dracula formulae c.1959-70) but lets jump ahead to various "Tales from The Crypt" episodes(think:"Bordello Of Blood" as a VERY blatant example of the common "fantasy"). Don't let us leave out the George Clooney-Quentin Tarantino excersize in excess "From Dusk To Dawn".... There just aren't many wrinkles left in the hoary formula. Hence, without some further details, I tend to consider it a "pedestrian fantasy".

I want to sleep with a prostitute seems pedestrian, I don't know about the whole undead souless dominatrix bit.

Well, to begin with, the fantasy stated wasn't "I want to sleep with a prostitute". You are confusing the issue. I can/will digress to address your arguement: "I want to sleep with a prostitute" is simply completely unimaginative to the point of redundancy, I would have used a different adjective to describe such a provincial outlook: "DULL" or "NARROW" would adequately cover such a stated fantasy. "PEDESTRIAN" covers the "undead, souless dominatrix" fantasy(***yawn***)adequately.

It's his/her fantasy. It makes no difference if it's a common one or not.
A lot of people fantasize about the same or similar things. It's not a big deal.
