We used to be friends but his new GF won't allow that any more. It is really taking a toll on our children. I don't want to be married to him, I just want to be his friend. I miss him.

That's because you're a whiny clingy ex wife who can't face reality and let go. Move on! You need to get your hair pulled.

Thanks for your positive feedback on the subject. I'm not a whiny clingy ex wife and believe me... I DO get my hair pulled. I really don't see why my kids must suffer because their parents can't be friendly towards each other. I don't want to be married to him and I don't want him for sex. I simply want to get along with him. I can't see how that is wrong.
But thanks again for your uplifting remark. That really helps when someone is suffering. Good job!

Being friends is definanately a huge benefit to the children. You will be role modeling positive behaviour and co parenting in a healthy manner. She obviously has some issues of her own if she cannot see the benefit of such and, I hope he's enough of a man/Dad to have boundaries with her for the kids sake. Being freinds with the ex/father of your children is good for everyone.

I've met social losers like you. You have no career, no real friends and deep inside you have emptiness that only alcohol can solve. The positive thing is that you'll most likely be dead within a few years.

At least you've been married. He's only ever felt the soft touch of vinyl against his body when he 'makes love' to his blow up doll Cindy.

Oh yes. You definitely have me pegged. Having the same job for 14 years and being a non-drinker makes me a loser. Why don't you go tell Cindy all about it. I'm sure the sound of skin on plastic will soothe you.

Thank you to all who affirmed my take on the "we should be friends" issue. My kids were doing so well before the GF came along. Now their grades are suffering and they seem to be having some problems socially. I am doing the best I can to remain friendly to my ex even though he shuns me at every opportunity. Hopefully one of these days he will be able to see how negatively this is affecting the children and he will stand up for them.

Who's Cindy? Is that the brand of your blow up doll?

I am sorry you guys can't get along for your kids. I know a couple where the guy is a total dick to his ex-wife, making life miserable for her at the expense of their daughter. It's sad.

Sounds like your ex's GF has insecurity issues.
