I'm a black man who was raised by a white couple. I was always led to believe that I was abandoned and my parents took me in as a foster child then adopted me. My grandmother on my mother's side, recently told me that I was not adopted. She told me that I was her actual grandson. She told me that my mother had an affair with a black man and became pregnant a few years after getting married. No one knew until I was born and then it all came out. My parents stayed together, moved and came up with the foster child story. She said that everyone in the family with the exception of the grandchildren know what happened. She said that it's been a family secret ever since. My grandmother man me promise not to say anything to my mom about it. She explained that she made a terrible mistake having an affair and that it is long in the past. She told me that my real father was a co-worker of hers at the hospital she worked at back then. She doesn't know his name. I'd like to find out who he is though.
