You both knew it would never have worked, but yet you hold on to her memory--in my book that is one of the definitions of fucktard. You agreed to the breakup, move on!
#1, have you ever heard of typo's? I'll bet you never made a single mistake in your life. Always double, triple or greater. No one is perfect but you? I was going to say that I bet you can even spell some 5 and 6 letter words and then I note you wrote irregardless and vocabulary. Bet you had to check with Mr Webster?
And #2, although the author professes to be a lesbian and in a love affair. You say they both knew from the start it would never work. Listen up. My wife and I fell in love on first sight, we dated, no sex, and ended up getting married 6 months later. Should we have known it would never work because there was only love and no sex? Get this, she died 3 months ago after we celebrated out 61st anniversary and we were still madly in love, neither of us ever cheated, neither ever had to, we were attached as one. And, yeah, and, I still miss her and constantly imagine her being by my side.
Yeah, I am an old man and it may surprise you but I can still get it on, probably better than some a hell of a lot younger than me. I have offers but so far have managed to decline, too soon after my loss to cheat, as I call it.
So.................etc;
#3 "... I knew that I had to let her go, we both knew that it would never have worked."
I am not saying that people don't meet and live happily, but they both agreed it would not work, she let the person go--now she has to move on. By hanging on to the memory of what they both knew would not work and was a mutually agreed split, she is only robbing herself of happiness by not getting on with her life.
At best they avoided what ever the "it would never have worked" would be, and at worst one or both of them don't possess the commitment to live a fully and happy life together. In either case, they need to get over it because they already resolved to part ways.
BTW: that is not what happened to you and your wife, I am sorry for your loss, but what is professed in this "confession" is not what happened to you.
