I'm so torn wanting a baby of my own. Met and married the man of my dreams who has his own adult kids. We agreed before we married that we will keep that door open and now he says he's done having kids. He offered to let me go so I can have a baby and its only him that I long to have a baby with.

My confusion in this mess, is my biological clock ticking, my drive for a family unit with this man that I married and love with all my heart, his being back and forth with wanting one more kid, and then being told that he loves me enough to let me go during the times he isn't longing for another kid so I can become a mom. Without him, I don't want a baby and we think alike with parenting and so much more.

He is scared of being burned in that department again, he is nearing age 50 and fearing his age, and we both want a family together more then anything. Been back and forth over this for 4 years now and can't make up our minds.

Added issue is that he is fixed and feeling like half a man. He refuses counseling saying he doesn't trust them so what do you think we should do??

Well luv, he being fixed, the baby boat has long since sailed. If he was a gelding before you married him, what were you thinking?

Being in your 30's you bio clock is running full on, but he being 50 and fixed with psychological issues you had either better take him up on finding someone else, or start thinking about adopting.

Thank you #1 for your reply, he was open to having a reversal and whether it works or not would be acceptable for us.

He is my age and I got fixed after our 2nd child. I did this to keep my wife from death with another one.
I can not imagine being a new dad at my age. Especially with a new wife age 36. Your urge to be a mom is great, but you need a dad for your baby. Having a good husband is one thing, a family is another. Suggest this, do foster care if he will do this. Help a few children who need love. You could be a mom to children who really need help. Love that last a life time.
