So finally, I walked out of my room and let the door lock behind me. What a strange feeling that was. A second before, I had all the power, now I really was helpless!
My heart was pounding as I walked down three flights of stairs to the lobby. I went to the front desk and told the desk clerk I had been locked out.
She smiled and said she'd make me a new key. As I waited, people kept craning their necks to look at me from the bar.
The desk clerk told me that the machine was acting up so it would be another minute or two. By now people were coming out of the bar, or coming into the hotel or off the elevator (I hadn't really thought through the whole "lobby" concept).
Well, as I got more and more nervous, my breathing got deeper and deeper and all of a sudden, just as the desk clerk was handing me my new key, the towel slid off.
I scrambled to pick up my towel and walked/ran back to the stairwell amid a few giggles and gasps.
Needless to say I got more than I bargained for, and I was definitly embarrassed, but I was also no longer bored!
