About a year ago, I was staying over at the house of my boyfriend at the time. I wasn't feeling too well, but I wasn't going to let that ruin such a great time I was having with him. After coming home from a movie and cuddling on the couch for a while, we decided it was time for bed, so we got ready for bed. I still wasn't feeling well, but I thought nothing of it, and I didn't say anything, so I finally fell asleep on the couch in his room. I woke up at about 3 AM to discover a huge red spot on his white couch! To make it worse, my PJ bottoms were light blue and I was wearing a mesh g-string underneath, which was not a good thing. My period wasn't due for at least another week, so that meant I had no pads with me. His mom had already gone through menopause, so I was pretty much out of luck. I looked for something to clean up the spot on the couch, trying not to wake him up. He must have heard me looking around because he asked me what was going on. I had to tell him what happened and since he has a phobia of blood, he was a bit freaked out when he saw the spot, but fortunately he got over it pretty fast. He was nice enough to go look in his mom's bathroom for a pad or tampon and luckily he found a few pads that she never used. Thankfully I had an extra change of clothes and panties, so I got changed. We finally got the spot out out of the cushion, but it was still embarrassing!

You are to be congratulated for getting a set bloodstain out of any fabric, let alone anything so blatantly obvious as a white couch cushion.

Always willing to play devil's advocate - in your place, I would have gone into the fridge and retrieved whatever frozen meat I could find. Hopefully, there was a family dog that could be convinced to gnaw and rend the "evidence" sufficiently to be convincing, and then as Fido's appetite slackened, the remnants placed on the offending stain.
After the chastising of the innocent but conveniently mute scapegoat,
Everyone in the household would have suspected everyone else for being responsible for the oversight of having left the meat out of the freezer "to thaw", and set up a smokescreen of befuddlement until you could complete your evanescence.

In the absence of Fido or Fifi as a modus operandi, the stained cushion might simply "disappear".

As for your clothing, you might simply have "toughed it out" until you could make good your escape. This would have had to have been rather sooner than later, as your aroma would have been rather compelling attestation to further conjecture the true meaning of a missing cushion or Fido's inexplicable and unrepeatable dexterity to open the fridge door............

I sound like a great houseguest, don't I?

He sounds like a great boyfriend to help you clean up a period stain and find you a pad or a tampon. Don't lose him. Dani
