When I was in my freshman year of high school, I had this teacher who everyone said was pretty strict, yet very cool. He was part of the athletic department and was a football coach. He was a history teacher and would frequently raise his voice whenever he would get into something. Our class was mostly lectures, and I enjoyed listening to him. I grew fond of his class, and his speaking. I came to find out that he was single and went fishing a lot. He was young, around 25 I think, and very handsome. Blond hair, blue eyes and a perfect beard.

He always told me I was one of his best students, though I never did much in his class. I mostly just kept to myself and doodled in my notebook. Sometimes we would have brief conversations whenever I went to turn a paper in, and that led me to have a major crush on him. Sometimes during lectures he would sit on the empty desk in front of me, with his legs wide open and facing me. It distracted me a lot and I didn't know where to look during half the class. It was kind of hot, but I was also a shy girl and didn't think it was right to think stuff like that.

When I stayed after once to ask him a question about a presentation, we were talking and he started commenting on his personal life. I wanted to ask him what a 15 year old girl had to do to get with a great guy like him. Though I never asked, but I always listened to him whenever he wanted to get into personal conversations.

Four years later, when I was 19, my friend and I were driving around and stopped at a gas station, and he and another man, a teacher, happened to be there as well. That night I learned that he became engaged to a woman and I remember saying..."bummer" and in turn he asked..."Why bummer? Something you want to say?" Which led me to believe he knew that I liked him, and since then we've never spoke even when I see him around town. It's just awkward.
