My daughter and I both have sore bottoms from the spanking my husband gave us. It all came about when I let her go on a school outing that he disapproved of. He had her go first, ten swats with the paddle over her jeans. I went next, only it was twice as many with the belt on my bare ass. He says I'm older and out to know better, so my spankings are always harder.

Spanking isn't necessarily abuse. I came from a similar background as this post describes. My father was the head of house and anyone who did wrong got a paddling, plain and simple. You do wrong, you pay for it. That's how life is. We can't go through life always getting what we want, doing what we want, and never having to pay for our mistakes. I'm glad I was raised the way I was raised so that I didn't end up a spoiled bitch.

I agree --- mainly because my parents did raise me to be a spoiled bitch. It was my husband who actually took me in hand for the first time. The first spanking he gave me, I was furious. I left the house, went to the mall, and spent a fortune. Everytime I bought something, it only made me feel more guilty so I went home and apologized. We agreed that I should return the things I bought. And then he took down my pants and paddled me until I couldn't sit. Lesson learned lol.

No #4, that is not assault, that's corrective punishment. That's what's wrong with this country today, take the name of God off our money, out of the pledge, the pledge out of schools and younger people calling the police whenever they see someone being corrected. Abuse and assault, bullshit.

Exactly. Like one of the commenters said above, when you do something wrong, there are consequences ... or should be. Many women consent to this type of lifestyle, not because they are abused or because they are turned on by abuse. They do it because they know that they benefit from having structure and a firm hand in their lives.

It's not healthy to rely on someone else for your structure, because if that person ever disappears, you're left with no idea how to set your own boundaries. I'm a woman and I'm an adult and I decide what that means. I set my own boundaries, and yes, there are consequences to actions, but not the type that are imposed on me by somebody else deciding what I can and cannot do. They're just the natural cause and effect that you DO see in the real world. In the real world, nobody else can walk up and paddle you for wrongdoing. Like a previous poster said, that's assault. It's domestic violence. If you consent to it, fine, but it's not doing you any favors in the long run if that's how you're getting your structure. Learn to create your own structure and learn some self-discipline. It's not difficult.
