I suppose that like a lot of young adults I am not as independent as I should be. I still rely on my parents for a car and gas and health insurance and vacations, but I do work and pay my rent and eating out, etc.

I met a guy, he is an artist type, part time musician, part time he works for a charity call center. Sum it up he is not a money motivated guy. I really am not either.

Anyway we hit it off and we are now seeing each other and coupling, so to speak. If I had to pick the perfect combination of manliness combined with boyish behavior and all around fun guy it is he. We are not kinks, we are really pretty conventional in the bedroom, not that we have a definite identity, but I am more of the sensual and supporting person and he is more of the responsibility and take charge person.

I would like him to meet my parents, they know about me, I came out to them when I was still in college, and although they accept me, in many ways they really don't, so I keep things away from them and out of their house.

If we have a chance at a life we will still need my parents support, I just don't make enough money and neither does he, with out their support combining both our salaries we will be way below the poverty line. I am having trouble navigating this whole issue with my parents.

Any advise out there? I am just now back on speaking terms with them, without their 'observations'. I wish I didn't need their support but I do.

There must be others who have had to navigate these waters.

Oh, one last thing, my sister is married and her husband is still in school, he was in the army for three years. My parents are totally supporting them.
