I can't seem to stop eating.

This morning, I had a bowl of bran cereal with dried fruit and 1% milk.

Then, I had juice as a mid morning snack.

So far so good, right?

But now, I'm eating two Lean Cuisine entrees for lunch. And I know that I won't be satisfied afterwards, so I'll end up eating a whole pint of strawberries with sugar and whipped cream.

I'll probably be okay until about 5:30 when I start fixing dinner for my family. Then I will start snacking again. I'll eat bits of lettuce, tomato, etc. as I chop veggies for the salad. Then, I'll nibble on cheese and crackers as the casserole bakes. Finally, when I pull the rolls from the oven, I will eat at least two hot and dripping with butter before I set the napkin-wrapped bowl on the table.

Then I will eat a full dinner followed by a huge slice of angel food cake with more strawberries, sugar, and whipped cream.

Lastly, I will have a huge mug of hot chocolate with whipped cream and an amaretto cookie before I got to bed.

This is basically what happens every day. I start off good, but by lunch I overeat. I try to have healthy foods, but I crave sweets. My family complains if there aren't starchy things and desserts in the house. I think I am addicted to my nightly cocoa and cookie because I've had it every night for 15 years and I can't fall sleep without it.

I've done and failed every diet you can name. My doctor says I am only 25lbs overweight, but I'd like to lose 50lbs.

Try this.
A glass pure lemon juice diluted with hot or cold water 3 times a day. Start off with a little juice added and increase the amount gradually as you get used to the taste.
In a couple of weeks it would have killed your taste for sweet things somewhat, and in a month or two it would have killed it completely.
