I got married to a foreign man. In his culture the woman really does belong to the man. It has been a difficult road, learning to ask him whether I can go here or there and if I can buy this or that. He is wealthy and he spoils me, and loves to take me shopping. We have a housekeeper who has an allowance for running the house.

I had three daughters one right after the other. No sons. I told him that what the baby was is something that he determines, not me. But he still holds me responsible. I don't want to play baby roulette until I have s son, but that seems like what I have to do. Everyone in his family is comfortable with this, and this is what you do.

Some talk has existed about us moving back to his country. I have visited there often, but I would not like to live there. If at home I have little say in what I do, at least at law here I have a place, in his country you get what he gives you.

I love him, every day. But what seemed like it wasn't going to be a big deal, is.
