Bi-Sexual Female / 29
I had a complicated life growing up. And not much money. I met a man right out of college and he was making a good living and I married him. Five years later I met this girl at work. How do you describe something like that. I was attracted to her immediately, and made a fool out of myself. But somehow we became friends and one lunch break we walked to the small park near our office where there was an outdoor art fair.
I put my arm around her and hugged her against me and said I loved her. It all happened before I could control myself. To my surprise, she stood on her tiptoes and kissed my cheek and said she knew. But she didn't tell me that she loved me, which hurt. At work I left early, I felt like a fool and went home.
My reaction to all that is that I told my husband I was ready for a baby. I rationalized that if I had a baby I would stop being a fool and that what I had said was nonsense, it was just a strange moment. I had confirmed at home that I was pregnant, but not with a doctor and certainly didn't say anything to anyone other than my husband. I was waiting to confirm it. I got a call from her and she said that she had been thinking about me and that she had been rude, and she should have just said what was on her heart, and that she loved me too and she wanted to be my girlfriend.
My life toppled over. I told her that yes I loved her, but maybe that wasn't right, I told her I was trying to get pregnant. That I needed to stay with my husband.
We agreed to talk in person, after work the next day.
I took the pregnancy stick with me to show her, that I wasn't kidding or lying. When I sat with her she put her hand on my hand and asked for a proper kiss, to kiss her with my eyes closed and she would be able to tell how much I loved her. It was the worst thing I could have done. 30 seconds and I had nowhere to hide. I gushed all over that I was in love with her, but that I was pregnant and I was married and we had to be brave and break it off.
She said no, she wasn't going to break it off, she was going to win me over. She didn't care if I was pregnant, or married for that matter, pregnant or not pregnant we were going to be together.
All during the pregnancy we got together. She became heavily involved with the pregnancy, as if it was hers. She wanted me to come out to my husband and tell him about us. I tried but failed. The baby was born and I stayed at home for six weeks. During that time I thought about my situation. I resolved that I would stay married and make the effort for him and for the baby, and future babies.
The hardest thing in my life has been breaking up my extra marital affair. I have confessed to my husband, and I promised him it was over. The pain is still with me. Her smile tears me apart. We are friends at work, but we don't try to do anything out of work, we are colleagues. That is all we can be.
