Unless the guy you have a crush on is married, you can always find a way to go up and talk to him. I'm sure the guy won't have an issue with you being younger than he is. Understatement! So the big thing is what you would have in common with the age difference, unless you are just looking for security! $$$

You need to let him know for sure I dated a girl 18yrs younger than me and was good for 2 years but then she got the travel bug... If you able to take on his kids and be grown up enough to gel then go for it!!! I love the younger mature minded ones.

I was 45yo and I hooked up with a gal that had just turned 30yo. Sex was off the hook but your relationship can't always be in the bedroom either. Although we had the same sense of humor that 15yr difference came into play many times. She liked mostly Hip Hop & Rap and I was a Heavy Metal guy. We would be around people at times that wasn't too keen on hearing someone saying "Fuck" in every conversation. So this guy has kids too? Well you have to ask yourself if you are up to sharing your time with this guy and kids also?
