Out to lunch with some of my coworkers I was texting and would have walked in front of a bus except my coworker grabbed me and pulled me back. He took my phone away and put it in his pocket and told me not to be distracted. I said yes sir, and let him escort me across the street. At the sandwich shop it hit me and I started to come apart. He held me for several minutes while I cried, he told me I was beautiful, and he was happy to have been there to look after me. All I could say was yes sir, yes sir and hold my arms around him.

He is in his fifties, and now I say yes sir or no sir, I spend time with him, he is really knowledgeable and he gives me advice. He saved my life and my other coworkers don't understand I really respect him, I owe him my life, I feel good calling him sir, it makes me feel good to respect him. Sir is not giving in to the man, it is not lowering myself, or giving up on my beliefs of equality. A man saved me and he did it with out consideration for his own life. I will never again say things like I used to. Maybe I have seen the light.
