A couple of weeks ago, my sister said her daughter, my niece, wanted me to chaperone at her field trip to the zoo that would be happening today. I didn't really want to, but I knew I had to, so I filled out the sheet saying I would go. So today, I got up at 6am and got in my car. While I was driving to the school, I was thinking, the last thing I want to do is guide a group of six years olds around a damn zoo, so when I got to the school, I drove around in the parking lot for a while, (maybe 5 minutes or so) and eventually, I just decided to leave and drive home. I drove back at 2pm to pick my niece up, that was the plan, I would take her home right afterwards. And of course, she wouldn't shut up for a few minutes, so I said. "If I take you to Cold stone and get you whatever you want, do you promise not to tel you're mom I didn't come?" She promised and I ended up buying her a huge bowl of icecream that she didn't finish, which had oreos, gummy worms, and some really sticky candy bar, so it's not like I was going to finish it.

She'll eventually tell and then it won't be so funny. Your sister won't trust you again and you'll have problems when you need babysitting, etc.

What's hilarious about an aunt who can't simply say no when she doesn't want to do something? Your niece will remember that she can get treats from you by hiding your secrets from your sister, and you won't be the "cool aunt" any more once you realize you're being played all the time, and don't want to play any more.
