In college I met a girl and we became friends. Her name is Kat. Over a short period of time we became best friends. The one night we had stayed up late and she stayed with me in my dorm because it was storming outside and she slept with me in my bed. We are both small framed, so we spooned and I held her. I liked the feeling of her against me and I pulled her tight so I could feel my breasts against her, she pulled my hands up over her breasts. We were quiet because of my roommate, we just had the incredible moment before we fell asleep.

Several weeks later, we were waling back from a show on campus, and she said she wanted to hold my hand, so we held hands as we walked back to my dorm. Kat asked me if I wanted to go spend the night with her at her off campus apartment. I hesitated for obvious reasons, she looked really disappointed so I said OK. She told me that when I hesitated she felt bad for asking. At her apartment, she had a larger bed, we got in and watched some tv. I could feel her distance so I reached for her and hugged her.

The next semester she and I rented a garage apartment together. The owner was a lawyer in town and he fixed things, or got us things we needed, including dishes. One evening he said he had a large bowl of chilli and asked us if we wanted to join him for dinner. He interrogated us and the result is that he forced us to admit that we had a thing. We were truthful and told him we did not do anything more than sleep together.

It was all surreal, he started on us about our obligations about having children, and if we were going to be together that is one thing we had to deal with. The conversation went everywhere, but he kept coming back to our obligation to have children, that is the one thing he could not forgive. We were uncomfortable but we couldn't leave and he finally told us his ex did not have children and that is why they broke up. He took us around his house, and showed us the living room and told us to make it bright for him. He showed us the bedrooms and said that there was room for boys and girls. He showed us his bedroom and told us which side he slept on and that we could easily fit on the other side. He told us that he wanted us to be his finches in his gilded cage, where he would put us and throw away the key.

We slept there. In bed he asked me to disrobe Kat and give her to him as my gift. It was hard but I did it. We slept and the next day he told Kat she needed to give me to him. Once that happened, we would seal ourselves with him. We moved in with him and we lived there while we finished college. Our address was still the garage apartment, but we lived with him.

After graduation, he had a reception for us at his house and I think that is where my mother figured out that we lived with him, and not in the garage apartment. I confessed to her, about living with him and about me and Kat. After the guests left we sat in the living room and we talked with my parents. I guess that is when I first said out loud to someone else that I was in love with Kat and she said that she was in love with me. My mother questioned me about living with him and I told her we were his finches. She did not understand.

I came out to my mother about me and Kat. I don't think anything I have ever done was harder than telling her that. Kat for her part decided to tell her parents in a letter.

I know that for some people it is easy, but for us it was hard. Our lifestyle is hard for our parents. They really don't understand the finch story at all and think it is crazy that we would commit our lives to him like that. When I gave myself to him that night I crossed into another world. Kat feelings are a little bit different, but essentially the same. We bought a gilded cage which is in our living room, it is locked and there is no key. It symbolizes to us our commitment to each other, where we can see it every day.

Sure it's hard for your parents to understand. They thought they raised you smarter and more self dependant but then you instantly abandon your lesbian relationship for some guy with an archaic notion of relationships he easily manipulated you into bed with. It's a perfect little "cult" for the 3 of you and he's manged to make himself "king" so he's living mighty well.

And good for him! Good for you girls too, if you're happy. Happiness is all that counts.
