I just cannot let go of what happened.

My brother brought home a friend from college. My father told him that if he wanted me he could have me.

I got married at seventeen. I had to go sleep with him that night so we could become man and wife. I never dated anyone, and was married to a boy who was at college and you don't cheat on your husband.

I was still a freshman at college when he graduated and we had to move for his job. I went to college at a city college instead of the state college because I was married. For the next twenty years we moved four times, twice overseas. I essentially had to stay with low paying jobs or not work. I also had four children.

I am over protective because of what happened to me. I never felt like I had a chance to choose, by father and brother chose for me. My husband says I am making too much out what is not a big deal. It wasn't a big deal to him, but that is not how I felt and I can't just let it go. My dream is that my daughter have a chance at a romantic experience, with a boy of her choice, something I never had. It may be that we have to interfere if she chooses wrong, but at least she should have a chance to see if she meets a boy she would like to be with and not given away like a old coat that is no longer useful.

You are absolutely right. Do your best by your daughter and good luck to you.

It's not too late even now to find a new person in your life. Don't feel as if you can't leave your husband either. And certainly don't think you can't experience another male or female sexually outside of your closeted marriage. I know what I'm talking about, I used to be in a similar marriage to you. But now I'm free to live the life I want, with whom ever I choose. And I still love and are loved by my kids...
