My niece has been through hell and back and through hell again and back again. She is an amazing special little girl. When she was five years old she was diagnosed with a rare deadly cancer and it was somewhat advanced when she was diagnosed. Over the next few years she went through repeated rounds of chemo and radiation. She lost all her hair more than once. Her finger nails and toe nails fell out. She bled from them, her mouth, nose and the other end as well. She spent most of those years in continuous pain. Most adults who go through what she has give up and ask to have the plug pulled or stock pile pain pills and make their exit.

To compound matters, when she was seven her Dad was killed in a car accident, I would say he was murdered by a drunk driver. He's rotting in a prison cell as I type this. Too bad that state doesn't have the death penalty.

Just when she thought she had cancer beat and shortly after her father died a different unrelated cancer cropped up elsewhere in her body. So then her doctors had to target that. More chemo, more radiation.

At nine her mother, my sister, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. She passed away a month later.

While being treated for the second cancer my niece was then diagnosed with yet another cancer.

Like I said, she's been through hell. With her parents gone she has only one relative left alive, your's truly. Of course I've had my own grief to deal with losing my sister to cancer but that hardly compares to her suffering.

So In November last year my niece finally and just a week before Thanksgiving, went into remission. We finally had something to celebrate. Not having any family besides each other I wanted to do something special. We'd never been but we're both descendants of pilgrims so I thought it would be cool to have Thanksgiving dinner at Plymouth Plantation in Massachusetts so we had our meal there. It was a long trip and we spent a few days there seeing some of the sights as well.

In December Amber turned ten. I took her shopping for clothes and a make-over. Normally I would not approve of a ten year old wearing make-up but she had no eyebrows nor eye lashes not to mention she was completely bald. So I took her to a salon and explained what happened and that she needed to have her face and nails done and since there was a wig shop next door I took her there first to pick out a new wig. They had a really nice selection of human hair wigs for little girls. The woman who owned the place had a lot of cancer patients as clients so knew exactly what Amber needed. Then at the salon she got the rest of her make-over completed. The next day was her birthday and I had arranged with the help of her friend's parents and her teachers to throw a surprise birthday party for her. Over a hundred people showed up.

Christmas was just around the corner. One thing about having a birthday in mid December is often the parents or family try to combined the two to save money. I wanted to make sure both days were separately special for her. I wanted to come up with the best surprise possible. Through subtle and careful observation and listening I discovered over the past few months that Amber wished to go to two different places when she got better, if she got better. She wanted to go to Disney world and Hawaii. Fortunately for her I have resources and could arrange both as soon as her Doctors pronounced her well enough to travel and enjoy life again which she has not been able to do for half of her young life.

So I deliberately made Christmas as subdued as possible. I gave her all the gifts she had asked for but she didn't dare dream she would get her hearts desire. So after spending the wee hours of Christmas morning tearing through Christmas gifts marked "From Santa" that we both knew she was not naive enough to think they really were from Santa (based on all the hugs and kisses she gave me after each one she opened) I had a surprise for her.

Now I had already told her we were going on a trip Christmas day, in the afternoon. I told her we were going to be traveling half way across the country to the state her father was from to deal with legal business Monday morning at a lawyer's office. I told her she couldn't be left alone and apologized for the poor timing and told her when we got back I'd make it up to her by making he rest of her Christmas vacation as special as possible. I'd already made arrangements with her teachers for her to catch up on her homework and studies when she got back. They were used to doing that for her and when I explained what was up they were eager to help me out.

So I had all her bags packed and snuck in some items I figured she would need but wouldn't know she would need until she got there. One advantage one has when surprising a ten year old girl is that often they are oblivious and in their own little world, especially when they have ear buds in and are playing some game on their tablet they just got for Christmas. So she was clueless even when we boarded and got to our seats. The only thing she noticed was we were sitting in first class. She'd flown before and always coach. She looked around and made some comments about how much nicer this plane was than the others she had flown on. I had told the flight attendants about her situation and told them that I'd be grateful if Amber got the best possible royal treatment.

The entire trip they doted on Amber waiting on her hand and foot every chance they got. They were incredibly nice and yes I know that is what they do in first class but they went above and beyond.

The next thing that happened was fate. A very famous A list movie star and her ten year old son sat down in first class right next to us. Amber was back in oblivious mode. The boy had the exact same popular tablet, both were Christmas presents. I introduced myself to the movie star and exchanged pleasantries. She was incredibly nice, especially to Amber. When I told her where we were going, Amber was still oblivious playing tandem games with her new friend to even notice, the movie star told us that was where they were going as well and we were staying in the same resort in the park. I told her it was a surprise and that Amber didn't know and then I told her about Amber's recent trips through hell. She made several suggestions on how to make it all the more special and even invited me to join her as her guest at Club 33 where she was a member. So as we approached Orlando I told Amber to look out the window. The big geodesic sphere in Epcot Center was clearly visible. Now Amber was a Disney fanatic and would immediately recognize the park from the air based solely on that structure and that was how I planned to break the surprise to her, in the air at about ten thousand feet just before landing.

It took a moment for her to realize what she was looking at. I said "I'm sorry but I've lied to you. We are not going to any old stuffy lawyer's office. We're going some place else. Care to guess where?"

She looked at me dumbfounded and then screamed. Well I do feel sorry for the passengers in first class who were napping. But not much. She was more excited and ecstatic and happy than I ever remember her being. That is when her new friend said that was where he and his mom was going. I just can't believe that I actually pulled off keeping it a surprise until then. But you know ten-year-old's. They are mostly in their own world most of the time. Then the movie star we were sitting next to invited us to ride in her limo since we were headed to the very same place. It was a stretched Escalade so there was tons of space. Since we were first class.

As it happened we were one level down and a few doors over from our new celebrity friends and she, noticing how well Amber got along with her son suggested we spend the time together for the sake of our kids. I thought it a wonderful idea though despite the fact that she was rich, famous and beautiful, I was never especially a fan of celebrities per se. But she seemed very nice. Frankly I wouldn't have given a rats ass about her status unless she was. We got into the Magic Kingdom just before dark and enjoyed the Christmas night show of fireworks and other entertainment though we didn't really get to see much of the park that night. We were just taking things in.

We spent two weeks in Orlando, mostly in Disney World where our hotel was. We spent most of that time with our new friends. We got up to room service and had breakfast each morning alternating between our room and theirs. We repeatedly went back and forth between the Magic Kingdom and Epcot and seeing the other sights, the zoo there, the shopping village. We took a day and went over to the Kennedy Space center where they had a nice exhibit. We also went to Sea World twice and even took a long drive down to Bush Gardens for one day. It was a Whirlwind visit to the best parks in the Orlando area. Amber was excited both from visiting Disney world, and having a new special friend.

What Amber didn't know was I had a second surprise for her.

After I told my new celebrity friend where the second surprise was she asked if she could join us. Of course I said she could. I had rented a bungalow on the beach on the big Island for two weeks. It was a traditional style Hawaiian construction. It was along a stream that ran down from the mountains and right into the Pacific only feet from her bedroom so she could hear the water flowing down stream and the surf at the same time. Twice we were to enjoy a lu-au complete with traditional music and hula dancing. I arranged for Amber to have surfing lessons and scuba diving lessons and we were going to go fishing, shell collecting and go see some volcanoes and real lava. And of course since we had come all that distance we were going to visit her great grandfather's grave site at Pearl Harbor where he went down with the Arizona.

I wasn't sure at what point Amber would figure out we were not flying home. As it was, we were about half way across the country when she asked why the flight was taking longer going home. I told her I would tell her in a little while. she went back to playing with her tablet and chatting with her new friend. Finally we got into LAX and that is when it hit her, we weren't going back home. She asked what was going on and I told her it would be a surprise.

We were an hour over the Pacific Ocean when she figure it out.

"Are we going to Hawaii uncle Jack?"

I asked her what made her think that and she said it was because the only body of water west of L.A. was the Pacific Ocean and we'd been flying over it for over an hour and that was the only thing she could think of. That was when our new friends dug Hawaiian leis out of their carry on bag and put them around Amber's neck and kissed her Hawaiian style.

More screaming that disturbed the first class passengers a little but they were very understanding when they found out what happened and why.

So we shared a limo to a boat to another limo to our Bungalow and spent a wonderful two weeks together.

We finally got back home nearly a month later which was a little over a week ago. The next day we had a quiet moment together and Amber was reflecting on the previous month and all that had happened. She had had her dream double vacation and was getting herself in the mood to get back to schoolwork. But she was sitting there curled up in my lap and we were watching a Disney movie together. Her hair was starting to come back. It was almost an inch long. Soon she won't need her wigs any more.

Amber looked in my eyes and said "Uncle Jack, I just realized that you've given me so many birthday and Christmas presents and I've hardly gotten you anything at all. How about a blow job?"
