I was in grad school on the west coast. At grad school I got involved with a woman. She taught at the university and we hit it off. On the night it happened we had gone out and returned to her house. She had a boyfriend she had failed to mention. At the time they were separated. But on that night he came over, we were in bed, still naked and that is how he found us. I woke up fully embraced as he maneuvered me into a position where he could penetrate me. He ejaculated fully in me. I became pregnant and I now have a two year old toddler. At no time in my life did I plan on this. My life has been thrown into a whirlwind of change. My relationship with her, managing his involvement with his daughter, his demands on me, my job has made it impossible to continue with my masters program.

I am not bi, I put up with him for my daughter's sake. He has not stepped forward to accept his responsibilities citing my 'lifestyle'. This means I will not be married to my daughter's father and she and I will have different names. This bothers and hurts me. I feel that as he got me pregnant I feel he should marry me. For my daughter I am completely willing to take on the responsibilities of being married. A 'quick' civil ceremony and my life would be in order. Nothing changes, except the legal relationship.

I am a huge pest about this. I never planned on being married with a child, but here I am.

You would not be the first person to be a parent out of wedlock so instead of marring him just have him pay support and go on with life

First of all, the man is a rapist and obvious asshole. I would make plenty
of space between us. Your child does not need to have anything to do with
your rapist. You need to drop false, immature social fixations and use your logic.

Agreed with the first 2 comments. Father doesn't equal parent and this guy as your husband won't improve anything for you. You could still meet a man you love and could marry down the line who is more than willing to support your child.
