It didn't make sense to kill him now after the fact. Despite all the pain he has caused in his past, he may have had a turn around. He found God and wrote books for adolescent about avoiding gangs and violence etc. So what sense did it make now really? It would have been beneficial for us today if he was killed in the 70's while he was in the stage of forming and instigating the "crips" gang.
I am not a stickler for captial punishment per say, then again only for first degree rapist and serial killers. The rest could rot in jail and suffer in misery for all I care.
