I did something I never expected to do. After a year long relationship I agreed to get married and accept these conditions.

- Accept and proclaim that my husband is the head of my house and I will give obedience to him.

- I will be not only his wife I will give him children, more than two.

- I will be the primary homemaker and caregiver to my husband and family.

- I will take his name.

I know this is no different than my mothers and grandmother's vows, I grew up feeling different but after seeing my friends and others go through divorce and broken families and comparing to my mother's and grandmother's piers I believe they are right and my ideas are wrong and I will change. I am at ease now, my friends who opposed me now support me.

I am not a 17 year old, I am an adult, educated at home and college and I am looking forward to starting my family.

I ask that women who read this think about what they wish to accomplish with their lives. It is only women who can build a family and without a family we are a lost whisper in the wind.
