I am glad I am not the only one inflamed about this. Not only are they taking the tune, but changing the lyrics as well. Like I said before, when the Italians, Germans and Irish immigrated to this country, they learned the language and conformed to their surroundings.

Not these ASSHOLES! The money they make from sales will go towards some kind of "civil rights for immigrants" bullshit federation.

Listen, if and when you become a LEGAL American citizen, work and pay taxes--- you will have the same rights as every other American.

Until then, learn English which is the primary language of the country you so desperately want to be a citizen of. You should NOT have any special rights as illegal aliens.

We all know other immigrants of the 19th and 20th century would never have dreamed of asking to be treated special. They felt lucky to get a job and support a family while learning the english language and customs.

To all you illegal immigrants.......Learn your place!!!!!!!!

Anyone who wants to take a few minutes to read this article by Po Bronson:
Posted Monday, May. 08, 2006
I've lived in California for 24 years. I've always taken the most liberal line on immigration, without much question. I supported amnesty for undocumented workers and I marched against California's propositions that made it harder for immigrants to receive social services. My patriotism is rooted in their perspective; their appreciation for how good life is in America serves as a valuable check on all those who complain that life was better 50 years ago or life is better in France today.

But my preset acceptance has been a blindness. Liberals like me have ignored the way the steady trickle of new Americans has become a massive repopulation program, primarily from Mexico. During the 1970s, 120,000 Mexicans came to the U.S. every year. During the 1980s, it was about 200,000 a year. During the 1990s, it was 350,000 a year. Today, it's estimated at 485,000-every year. One out of every eight Mexican-born adults are now living in the U.S.

I no longer think it's okay to give the Mexican government a free pass. Pushing its poor towards the U.S. seems to have become Mexico's primary social policy. The migration rate is the highest from the areas with the poorest people. But the Mexican government has not pushed money into those areas to ease the conditions that force Mexicans to leave. It's doing the opposite; the World Bank says those states are receiving the least government help.

This has been a threefold victory for the Mexican government. First, it eliminates the financial concern of how to care for these people. Second, the citizens who would be the angriest about the government's inadequacies keep leaving the country. Those who would vote, protest, stage walk-outs, and revolt-instead keep voting with their feet. Which in turn protects The Powers That Be. And third, as a reward for watching entire communities empty out, they receive a huge influx of cash.

Last year, Mexicans received $20 billion in remittances from their relatives in the U.S. That's more than Mexico receives in foreign aid. That's more than international tourists spend in Mexico every year. The only industry it earns more from is oil. The fact of the matter is that the Mexican government simply cannot afford to stem the tide of migration. Since 2000, about $100 billion has been wired into Mexico.

I would be fine with that, if the Mexican government were using this as capital to end corruption and kickstart its economy. One Mexican academic has determined that of the 16 Mexican states with the highest migration rates, not one has made economic development a priority. Rather than more Mexicans going to work, more are quitting their jobs because they can live off the remittances. In five Mexican states, remittances now equal more than 100% of local salaries. In one state, Michoacan, it's 182%. Mexican academics are calling their country's relationship to the U.S. "parasitic"- they insist it is not making Mexico stronger, just making Mexico more dependent.

Can you imagine the uproar in the U.S. if our national social policy for poor people was to encourage them to leave the country and go to Canada?

The Mexican government denies it is encouraging people to leave. But Mexico has still not made human trafficking illegal. They distributed 1.5 million comic books with instructions on how to cross the border safely. Yucatan distributed a similar book, complete with bonus DVD. Last December, Mexico began a publicity campaign reminding Mexicans that they were entitled to a $5.15 minimum wage in the U.S. - but it has not adequately enforced its own minimum wage of 60 cents.

Rather than making it harder to run off to America, they've made it easier. Mexicans residing in the U.S. can now keep their money in Mexican banks denominated in dollars, not pesos. They can get special-rate mortgages for purchasing property in Mexico.

When President Vicente Fox calls the emigrants "heroes," he is taking advantage of their hard labor. He shouldn't celebrate this migration. It should be considered a tragedy that the Mexican government has not done more to end corruption, enable their economy, and care for its citizens.

It's fine to welcome immigrants and support their rights. But why do we attack our own government so loudly, and yet remain so silent on how their government is failing them? For a good liberal, there's nothing more damning than looking culturally insensitive. And Vicente Fox knows this; he knows that half of America will never dare criticize anyone who speaks another language. So he pushes his poor our way, knowing we good liberals will only rise and applaud.

Why do i have a feeling that the two of you protest against homosexual rights as well?

I happened to have posted in favor of curtailing illegal immigration. But as a matter of fact, I happen to support Gay rights. We're talking about Americans here, who are entitled to the same rights as any other citizens.

Nope..not against gay rights here. In fact, my state was the first to allow same sex marriage. I walked amidst A LOT of grumbling, but still maintained that gay marriages are entitled to all that straight marriages are.

No. I'm not quite Archie Bunker, but I am dead set against illegal immigrants coming here, damanding govt. services , marching in protest against AMERICA when they should be protesting against their OWN country for failing them so miserably.

This country does enough with foreign aid already. We can no loger afford to "take in " the poor by the HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS every single year!!

How can you even compare the civil rights of gays (or blacks) to the illegal immigrant protests/problems.

Gay people are not crashing borders, demanding welfare/foodstamps, working here illegally and sending money to a foriegn country.

They run the gammet of rich, poor, and of every culture/race. The difference here is that they are LEGAL citizens looking to be treated with respect and dignity.

I do happen to think homosexuality is somewhat of a perversion of nature, but I also beleive that while it is a choice to act upon their desires...don't we all?

Some gay people might not like that statement. But at least I don't say it is an abomination of GOD or the bible...that's a load of crap in my opinion.

My grand-uncle was gay. he pretty much kept it in the closet, but we all kind of knew. He spent the last 20 years of his life with the same man. THAT is a marriage.
When he died, he left most of his belongings/money to his partner...as well he should have. Imagine if your spouse of 20 years left you with nothing apon their death??

I'm not against gay rights or the LEGAL rights of any other American CITIZEN.

I wasn't compairing the two, i just had a feeling that the two posting against immigrant rights were your tipical white anglo-saxon protistant males...you know, the type that tell women their place is in the kitchen, the type that tell mexicans, jews, and blacks that there place is in their "home" countries, and those that tell gays they're going to hell for their sinful practices. I'm quite happy to see that is not the case.

Actually, I am a white Anglo-Saxon woman. It's easy to just say "I hate immigrants" calling the Mexicans wetbacks, ect. (the Archie Bunker syndrome)
But when you look at the facts, no American citizen in their right mind can continue to support the massive influx of illegal aliens knowing what the detrimental ramifications are for our own country.

Yes, give me your poor, huddled masses, but there HAS to be a limit, rules, regulations and requirements.

The effect of this practice of allowing illegal immigrants to enter this country, receive welfare, foodstamps all the while sending most of the money back to Mexico where it is NOT going into building the economy is becoming STAGGERING and is CRIPPLING out own society as well as Mexico.

Mexico is all but putting the poorest residents in sections of Mexico on a plane to get here. They send out pamphlets explaining to Mexicans how to receive American government services (welfare, ect.)and reminding them how much more money can be made in America instead of trying to help their own people get on their feet.

And we are SUCKING it all in like the bunch of bleeding heart liberal DO GOODERS that this country is so full of.
EVERYBODY is so afraid of looking or sounding "politically incorrect" even when we are acting like FOOLS!! Don't you think Mexico is LAUGHING at us and our utter stupidity????

Of course they are! They know we are such whiny, pushovers that they can come here illegally, receive benefits and ACTUALLY march, protest and DEMAND MORE!!!!

WAKE UP!!!!!! Stop allowing your own country to be a doormat!

It's protestants, not protistints. I am a protestant, as are my entire family, and not one of them fit the intolerant stereotype you described.

I really don't know which is worse - the illegal hispanics, the legal hispanics, or the dumbass whitetrash that gets excited about this.

At least we know the internet has come to the barrios and trailerparks all over the USA.

Buffoon....How do you surmize we are from a trailer park.
Do you ever watch political shows on TV? It is rather a big topic of debate and I would not call anyone who discusses this enormous issue trailer trash.

You will be eating your words in 10 years or less.

You sir/madam..are an ass.Problem for the lower class U.S. citizens? Initially, but at 485 million illegal immigrants entering the United States every year is nothing to sneeze at.

Too uptight about the problem? Maybe, but I have seen my town which is an upperclass suburb that is now making occasional headlines in the local newspaper for residents of the town's section 8 housing drug busts and knife fights.

Guess what the population is in my town minus the section 8 housing....99% white. Guess what the section 8 housing population of minorities are 95%.

It is no coincidence that the weekly police blotter ALWAYS has listings for the section 8 housing in it.

I have been here for over 30 years (California). La reconquista has been well under way since then, and has accelarated much in the last 10 years or so. Mexico direly needs a revolution, but Fox and his ilk know the massive emigration to Los Estados Unidos keeps the pot from boiling over.....so....they encourage it, and the stupid gringos accept it. Try being an illegal en Mexico and "demanding" rights...you'll wind up in the juzgado or worse. If we don't take control over our own sovreignity we surely will lose it!
