let me start by saying that I have been married for 32 years and have been unfaithful quite a few times during that stretch. Once again I'm in a situation where the other woman wants me to leave my wife so we can go out like normal people and see if we have what it takes to make a couple for life. When push comes to shove I don't think we really do, but I do believe that I'm in love with her but don't want to take the chance of losing what I have and then finding out that we're no match either. Am I just in love with the idea of being in love or am I constantly looking for that miracle relationship? Any good advice out there?

Did you ever hear the songs, snakes crawl at night, or cold hard facts of life?

When my grandmother was alive, she used to say, "The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence." She also said, "If you remarry, you will get a new husband/wife with a new set of problems: different problems." I understand your need for excitement and the feeling of newness. I also understand that relationships evolve, starting from exciting crushes to a spiritual relationship, a more mature type of love. In a marriage there needs to be compromise and respect. Just as in a job, a marraige needs to be worked on to continue to grow and develop.

What if you spent your time doing something with your wife that excites both of you? You may find that you really like her with your flaws and hers.

You sound like a friend on mine a few years back. He decided he would rather have my wife than the one he had, and made a play for her. We had had some problems but after 19 years who aint? She decided that what he had to offer was better than staying with me and making our marriage better, so she left me, he left his and they thought they had it made. We divorced but his wife wouldn't file so things didn't work out for them as they planned. He finely ended up loosing mine and moving back to his wife. They still live togather but things aint that good, we stayed divorced, she married some other guy and I injoy my freedom, but still hold a grudge about the whole thing. You should think this over real good before your jump off that bridge, the water may very well be a lot deeper than you can handle.
