Your Confession struck a nerve with me. I happen to be the Male Member (see what I did there?) in a situation quite similar to yours. Although I will guess she is much larger than you.

I don't think its uncommon. Life comes at you fast and sometimes you can get burned and that makes you cautious about relationships.

"Friends with benefits" seems to be a modern construct and although they are supposed to be NSA (no strings attached) that's sometimes hard.
