I live in a community that has an association that has rules and regulations. I moved into a community like this b/c it ensures that people must keep their properties nice and be respectful to others. Well, this asshole who lives next to me deceided to put up a fence so they can keep their yard like "Sanford and Sons". Seriously, I am embarrased to have anyone over who sits on my deck b/c it's so damn nasty. To boot, this asshole is on the Board of Directors and made the rules to keep our community nice in this unstable realestate market we are in and is breaking all of them. So, finally after the neighbor on the other side and I complained and hinted to them to clean it up. the wife got "ghetto" on me and made a horrible scene out front of my home. I paid a lot of money for my home and it's only 2 yrs old. She called me every name in the book and said I was being this way b/c she is black. She sreamed outside for 15 minutes and dared me to get in her face. Now mind you, I have many friends that are black and they have commented how triffling the backyard looks. The little bit of grass thay have is seriously 4 feet in height and it actually curling over! They have this aggressive dog that barks all the time. Again, her husband wrote the rules and he has done whatever he wants. He never, ever has helped the Home Owner's Association and now they are trying to get all the minorities in the community to hate me. She said such horrible things to me that I can't even repeat. My one nice Dominican neighbor said she went in her home and cried for me b/c this lady was so mean. I help all the people who can't speak english well contact the builder when they have issues with their plumbing, and warranty issues.I never played music loud to be nice and her husband who works the night shift was off one night and was using a hammer at 1:30am. I never called the cops. I really fear for my safety as I live alone. I had to buy pepper spray and now I don't ever want to come outside again. Well, now the property management company gave them 1 week to clean up their property or they will be fined. They have done nothing as of yet and it's almost 1 week. So I know that once they get this fine, I am in for pure hell. She only lashes out at me and not the other neighbor b/c the other neighbor is pregnant and has a husband. Any thoughts guys on how to handle this. I am really, really scarred. Please Help with any comments.

Sincerely,
A caring, nice person!

Whenever you stick up for your rights, it is uncomfortable. Your neighbors wife is using an intimidation tactic by swearing and making a scene to get you to back off. People who don't have credible standing use this sort of tactic. Let your neighbors know, through an attorney, exactly what you said to us. You paid a lot for your house and are expecting that the regulations are maintained. You are not going to have these people as your friends, and perhaps their friends are not going to be your friends, but so what! Keep your head up high, do not insult the woman, let her rant and carry on. Your slowly getting the regulations enforced. If they harass you, turn him into the board that he is on. Enforce the noise ordinance with their dog, call the police when he is hammering at 1:00AM. Don't let them walk all over you or they will. It is tough because you do live alone, find support, whether it be distant neighbors or not, but most of all Keep your head up, don't let them know they intimidate to you and just keep reiterating you just want the regulations of the community enforced and that it is nothing personal towards them. Keep us posted!

It bothers me when people use race as an excuse when confronted with an issue but you should definately keep trying to get them to corect the problem. Just because he is on the board does not mean he does not have to follow the rules.

Grass is so long it is actually curling over? my god, what depravity. How can you live in such an environment? I'm not surprised you feel like you can not go outside, I'm sure I'd be scarred for the rest of my life too.

Hi everyone. Update here. The property management company has come down hard on them and now they have to clean up their yard or FINES, FINES, FINES galore are a coming! So, I will sit on my deck while they do their work with my friends and enjoy a nice bottle of wine all the while smiling. I am not going to be afraid or intimidated anymore. It's a crazy world that the USA worries about invading IRAQ, possibly IRAN and other countries, but I have the get the HOA to invade him!!!! LMAO :)

Thanks everyone for your support!!! You guys ROCK!!!!!! I actaully have had some of the few neighbors that talk to me over the past week state that I had class when his wife and the other degenerates mobbed me. So, who looks bad now???? They are trash, regardless of their skin color! I don't care if they are green, just as long as their grass is!

Peace :)

Good, I'm glad that the community gatekeepers are doing their job. I wouldn't gloat to much, that just feeds the fire. I wish that I lived in a community with restrictions and regulations. I live in a small city, where ordiances are hardly enforced. There is so much crime and the city is deteriorating that I think people are giving up on their properties and just letting them decompose. Well, enough out of me, this is your response. I'm happy for you . . . am I'm wondering - is he still on the board? Thanks for the update.

It is starting again! I can't stand it. I am gonna unleash a can of whoop ass on them real soon. I won't be able to control myself soon. I am so tired of living in fear. I can't sleep, feel shaky all the time and am ready to go nuts. I am telling you people. Trouble ahead!

What happened? Is she ranting in the street again? Are they mad b/c they had to clean up their yard? When I was having trouble with my neighbor who scared me, I hid -initially. They knew they intimidated me and made it known to other neighbors just how unwanted I was in the area. I swear to God four neighbors at one time were out in the street talking about he evils of me, a single parent! I was afraid to leave my own house. WRONG! Hold your head up high. Do not engage in any exhange with those people. It is their problem not yours. They want to get away with not upholding the standards of your community. Turn him into the board he is on and ask them - Is this someone you want on the board which is trying to maintain standards of the community? KEEP LEVEL HEADED! Do not assault anyone, it only looks bad on you. Locally we did have one neighbor kill another. Is it worth it? 2 lives ruined and for what? And don't forget about all the extended victims when someone dies or someone goes to jail for manslaughter! Vent here, we'll listen!
