If Only I Was In A Real Marriage
During my freshman year in college I got pregnant with a grad student. I had to drop out, move back with my parents, go to college a bit at a time. He paid child support on time, paid my tuition and books, bought me a car, took us on holidays every summer, he loves his girl, he is a good father. We were just a kid and a man.
I'm not a kid any more, he still parents me, I got my degree but I am still with my parents, he wants a full time mom. I'm the wife who lives with her parents, making love in my little girl room, in my little girl bed doesn't help. I made a poster, "I'm a big girl now". Being a forever child and him being my forever parent doesn't seem like a good basis for a 'marriage', me living with my parents and he lives in an apartment.
If I wasn't in love but I am. If he wasn't in love but he is. If we didn't have a girl together but we do. If only he saw me as an adult and not a kid, but he doesn't.
