Did the neighbors including yourself come to the aid of the older woman? One thing about bad neighbors is they will back down if you confront them with support. I had an issue many years ago, I didn't get the support of my neighbors, matter of fact, the bad neighbor rallied with my other neighbors that I was the problem. They turned me in to Child Abuse Hotline, let my dog out of the fence multiple times, and harassed me with intimidating looks until THEY, THEY were evicted. As stated, this was many years ago, and I still get "egged" at least 3 times a year. Everytime I'm cleaning up that egg, I say to myself "this is worth that they are gone" and my neighborhood has been so peaceful since. Yes, I was the only one who stood up to non-working, methamphetmine drug addicts - was I scared - yes, but looking back on the whole thing - that was nothing compared to what I would be living through if they still lived here. Stand up to them, and try to rally support behind you.
Great advice. We did take down their license plate numbers and sat on our porch to let them know we were watching, which made them back off. I still felt so sorry for the woman. It is hard when it is so many against so few and they try to make it seem like we are the ones who are wrong. I will use your advice-thanks.
