OK right now I'm sitting in my BEDROOM with my laptop and listening to: Screaming kids in the backyard next door, screaming kids in the back yard behind my house, kids screaming about their lemonade for sale on the street corner, and terrible terrible music blaring out of the next door neighbors car radio.

I want to move.

Move then. Good luck on finding a kid free neighborhood. I hear old folk homes are kid free.

:p I'm not like an old lady or something, but the children were literally wailing. Like, a high-pitched screech not normal child-like playing noise and the parents were trying to make it stop and failing miserably.

Also this happens on a daily basis; so don't bitch at me for being "old and grumpy"

I know exactly what you mean. The parents on my block think the neighbors just love their little obnoxious brats and it's in our job description to keep an eye on them as they run wild up and down the street. Keep them in your own backyard and duct tape their mouths shut. When my kids were young I taught them to respect our neighbors. No yelling around their homes. Stay out of their yards. And absolutely stay in front of our home, nobody else's.

This was a problem with the people behind us. They had three kids under the age of six, and the noise coming from their house was unbelievable. Mom worked as some sort of a traveling nurse, and slacker dad was unemployed so he got to stay home and watch the kids. Only he didn't watch them, he shoved them out of doors in the backyard while he dicked around watching TV and eating. Our bedroom was about six feet from their backyard and more than once, we were awakened to ear splitting screaming and crying. Not to mention this shit went on all day! I finally got so fucking fed up, one morning, I opened the bathroom window and screamed myself hoarse for them to shut the hell up. It actually worked, and after that they were a wee bit quieter. I guess some people just don't realize how loud and intrusive they are.

Kids will be kids, if you dont want to deal with the noises..move to a community where children DONT LIVE. They are called senior citizen centers. I agree that parents should control their children, but they are still CHILDREN. They make noises, they do shit even when told NOT TO, and they are annoying as heck sometimes! If you don't like it, MOVE.

That is the dumbest shit I have ever heard. So somehow in your eyes, children have free reign to be as loud and obnoxious as they want... because they are kids? If you are using the argument that "they are just kids", then the responsibility falls to the parents to keep the noise levels down. The simple act of breeding doesn't make you a parent, raising your children to be respectful and productive members of society does.
