Lesbian Or Bisexual? No Matter.
For the last three years I have been having a lesbian affair with my next door neighbor, Jan. We are both in our early forties and married. She has a daughter and I have a son, and both are living on their own now. I know that this sounds awful, but both of us are bored and ready for a change.
Jan and I have talked about this, and we both agree that even without doing what we’re doing together, that each of us would probably be thinking of getting a divorce. This is just a sad fact.
During our time together we really have developed feelings for one another. I would not call it mad passionate love, but we are very comfortable with one another and companionable, and we have been talking about just leaving our husbands and moving someplace where we can just live openly together.
We are actually thinking of doing this in the spring. We really don’t plan to tell our husbands, not right off about our lesbian love affair, but to just deal with our own marriages on their own merits and reasons for wanting a change and a divorce. Of course we do plan to eventually tell our kids that we are living together, after we see how that goes, and I know that eventually our husband will learn of this. But hopefully by then it will all have been water under the bridge, say in a year’s time.
I must say that Jan and I have both found womanly togetherness, if you want to call it that, to be quite satisfying and rewarding. Are we really lesbians or just friends who enjoy being bisexual together, who can say. Although we both suspect that it is more the latter.
I think that really more women should not shy away from womanly companionship because of labels or the fear of how it might look. I say just go for happiness, especially the happiness, and love.
