It Just Makes Sense

I suppose that Suzanne and I are lesbians. We do live together and are having a love affair. Really, though, we just think of ourselves as being friends.
We are both in our early fifties and divorced, and we have both had our fill of dating men who are less than promising prospects and are poor lovers, looking more for a maid than a wife.
So after having known each other for almost ten years, for fun Suzanne and I decided to have a bisexual fling together. This turned out to be unexpectedly so wonderfully satisfying that we just decided to make it more or less permanent and move in together.
To be honest, though, I think that being a lesbian is more a state of mind, and that just because two females have and enjoy sex together does not automatically make them into lesbians. I imagine that guys must have the same problem with the whole gay thing. Too many labels and what other people think, and does that really matter?
But yes, I can see why it is becoming increasingly common for woman, especially older divorced women, to enjoy female companionship. It is just so much easier, convenient, and yes romantic. I finally feel like I am having the love life that I always wanted and desired, and no I never thought that it would be in the arms of another woman. But there you have it. I only wish that I had the courage to have tried this years ago. But to be honest, I was hung up about the lesbian label and all of these imagined negative connotations. Now it just makes sense.
