Validation?

What is it with men and validation when it comes to the size of your crank? Every man I've ever dated wanted to be the biggest; even my husband! He still says crap like "you love my big cock" when we're in frisky mode.

Anyway, we have a neighbor, Dan, who has taken to walking around his house totally naked... And sometimes completely erect. At first, there was a bit of naughty fun to it. " oh look! Dan's naked. Wow." But, after a year or so, I was bored with seeing him parading around. So, a few weeks ago I confronted hi, and asked him to close his dr**es if he's going to naked... Or at least when he's jerking off and hard. Geesh.

At first he was a bit shocked, not at all embarrased, but claimed to understand me not wanting to see him in that way. But, then he quietly asked: "Do you like my size? I'm bigger than most guys, you know?" I smiled and said he was fine. Just "fine". I'm not sure he liked my answer! Lol

I didn't want to press the issue, he is actually bigger in that area than any of the men I've ever been with, but why does he need that validation? Why do a lot of guys seek that validation? Yes, you have a dick, we get it, geesh!

Why do women need validation about their looks and or body? Why do women get boob jobs and tummy tucks and spend billions per year on cosmetics.
Same reasons men want validation about their dicks. Major difference is men dont have access to the same level of enhancements (surgery, make up, etc.) To cover up or fix their insecurities. So many times it is just a man wanting to know an intrinsic and largely unchangeable bit of biology hasn't ruined the experience or lessened them in their partner's eyes.

If you have never felt self conscious or needed external validation in your life then congratulations for being a paragon of mental health. But for the majority of the world there is something that we have been insecure about at one point or another. So this is a relatable fear that men are trying to overcome and compensating for.

Not claiming to speak for other men, but historically, the penis has been associated with power. Misogynistic and paternal cultures have always lauded the control of sex over women and the penis represents that control. Ultimately, the larger the penis, the greater the control--symbolically speaking. Whether screwed up sexual psychology gave rise to this paradigm or we have it reinforced because of thousands of years of history, who knows.

But I can guarantee you there isn't a guy who has, at some point, enjoyed the feeling of thrusting his penis into a woman and getting a little jolt of arousal from the knowledge that she's feeling what he has. There have been a few times when I would have been happy if my average size had magically grown to bull-size during sex. (Bulls have featured prominently in the imaginations of paternalistic cultures, too.)

So yeah, short answer is, I just think it's our biology. Bigger is better (more attractive?) and spreads more offspring. Just my thoughts.
