Her Name Is Marcela

During my orientation week at college I met a girl from San Antonio. She didn't look Hispanic, mote Italian, beautiful skin with jet black hair and ice blue eyes. We became friends. During the upcoming semester we hung out together, getting used to college life. The weekend before Thanksgiving break we went to an off campus party and a guy we met there took me to a room and had sex with me. I was more embarrassed than anything, I did lose my virginity and all, but the emotions were embarrassment. The only person I told was her.

We waited, waited for what didn't come. She went with me to planned parenthood who confirmed I was pregnant. They pushed abortion, the earlier the better. I went home for Christmas with this weight on my shoulder. When I went back to school I went determined to go through with an abortion. My friend told me she had prayed for me and she knew God worked his magic and for me to accept His g*ft.

I never got an abortion, I don't believe in them at all now. My friend stood by me, we stayed in college, we managed caring for my son and graduated. My son is everything for us. I learned that sometimes the person meant for you wears different clothes, wears her hair long, calls me Honey, has ice blue eyes and was beside me all along. We are enjoying parenthood, managing our first house, working from home, and getting married in July.

My sister had an abortion when she was 19. To this day she is still haunted by it. You made a great choice.
