Wish I Hadn't Waited So Long
I was fifty-four, had been divorced for five years, and basically just going along having an okay, but rather dull life. There really was little difference between one day and the next and not much to look forward to in the way of the future.
Then one afternoon a friend, Lori, and I were feeling I suppose playfully uninhibited. Enough that we sort of teasingly started fooling around, just being silly. And we had only had one glass of wine to drink, although that may have been enough to get us both loosened up. Nothing much really happened. We sort of fondled each other’s breasts though our clothing and we did several small kisses in the lips. Neither of us had ever done anything like this before, so feeling suitably self-conscious, we stopped.
It was a few days later when joked about having done this that we both admitted that it ahd been fun. Well, we got started again, and this time our tops and bras came off and we were bare breasted and thrilled to be so. This led to the rest of our clothes coming off and we engaged in some very exciting as well as satisfying mutual masturbation. Tame for some, I’m sure. But for us this was quite daring.
We did this together several more times, and started to become much more relaxed as well as romantic with each other. Over the next two months we settled into quite a loving routine which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We both began to wonder if we weren’t becoming honest to gosh lesbians, but we decided that it really didn’t matter, and we just pleasantly thought of ourselves as being bisexual.
But my point is, that I never thought or even imagined in my wildest dreams of being sexual with another woman, and neither did Lori. All that got started two years ago and Lori and I are still going strong. I will admit perhaps now more lesbian than bisexual. Who knows, right? It’s just a useless label unless you want to be some sort of lesbian activist, then I suppose that it’s important. But neither of us are out to change the world. If people see us together and want to think that we are lesbians, fine. If they just see us as two bisexual women, great. If they see us as two close and dear friends, that’s wonderful because that’s what we really are.
Perhaps there has always been lesbian leanings in me which I just never realized. Again, who knows and who can say. But I do look back and sort of wish that I could have started all of this thirty years ago. So to women out there who might be curious, I say cautiously give it a try. You might just be surprised and you might just be happy. Even very happy.
