Love And Hate Holidays

I am so terribly, terribly sorry.
As a mother myself, my heart goes out to you, Sister. I wish I could give you a big, long hug.
If thoughts were hugs, you're not alone
If I was there right now I would take you out for a romantic day of shopping and dining. Have you get dressed pretty with heels and stockings and a dress. Treat you like a princess, spoil you all day long and then spend all night making love to you while you are only wearing your stockings.
I feel really sorry for you. I’m sure you don’t deserve this.
Many happy returns of the day Zansha.
This is in advance. Be happy and safe.
Not worth feeling sad.Why not be happy without depending on others to make you?
If it's any consolation, you're not alone. Many parents suffer through this phase and in most cases (at least that I have experienced), once the kids mature a little bit, they'll more than make up for it.
Hang in there. It gets better. It really does.
I totally understand how you feel. I have a high functioning autistic son. Holidays to celebrate and acknowledge his mother and I are ignored. He thinks stuff just magically happens for him, house, food, clothes, upkeep. Its not his fault, hes in his own life hell dealing with his problems, but he doesnt have a clue of all the sacrifices that have been made because of him. How our lives are pretty much screwed up forever too. The hardest thing is I didnt want a second child but my wife insisted saying she would leave if we didnt have the second. Ive never given her an I told you so, because she knows. Shes paid the price too. As the other poster said, kids do realize and appreciate you more down the road the sacrifices you make. And that we wont be around for them forever. Even mine gets that once in awhile. Good luck. And when they wont do something special for you on those days, do it for yourself, you deserve it.
So very sorry. It can be like that, though, for so many mothers. The kids are all basically nice enough, but just thoughtless and detached. The best thing - just realize that is how they are, and move on. Get yourself a life and enjoy life.
It was the same for me, and when I finally realized and did this, well things became pretty darn good. My kids have their own lives and I now have mine.
Good luck and keep your chin up!
