You Just Never Know About Your Mom

Last year my mom died of cancer at the age of fifty-eight. She had been divorced from my father for eighteen years, and the two of us were close. Only I was completely surprised to discover that my mom had a whole side to her that I knew absolutely nothing about.
When I was going through her things, I came across dozens of rather shocking photographs of her and her best friend naked and having sex with multiple men. Judging by the smiles on their faces they were both obviously having the time of their lives. There were even photographs showing my mom having vaginal and anal sex at the same time as well as indulgently performing oral sex, and being bisexual with her best friend.
I had never dreamed that my mom was capable of doing anything like that or of being so uninhibited and sexual. At first I was stunned. That was my mom doing all of that! Then, however, as I went through the pictures a number of times I began to become accepting of the fact that my mom enjoyed that sort of thing, and actually I am happy for her that she did. I am glad that she enjoyed life while she could. I suppose that the lesson is that everyone should.
