Growing up I'd never believe you. Now that I'm older I KNOW that it happens. I recommend pretending not to know and leaving them alone. It is a mess I wouldn't want any part of. That type of thing is REALLY common and considered 'normal' by psychologists. Let them deal with it and grow out of it on their own
