You should check your lease and/or your local laws.
I am not sure, but I know that in Maryland, there are many places that have outlawed smoking indoors if you are conected (share a common wall) to another apartment. I am a smoker, but I have ALWAYS smoked outdoors. I would hate to think of smelling up a house or apt. with that stuff. Plus, it is SO unhealthy (second-hand smoke) for children, not to mention, adults! When I was pregnant with my first child, we lived in a double where the landlord would constantly go down in the basement and smoke. Well, ALL the smelly smoke would come up through all of the vents! the smell was particularly repulsive and dangerous when I was pregnant. (I quit during that time.) I KNOW that you must have rights when it comes to having second-hand smoke entering your home. Let us know what happens!
Thank you so much for your reply. I wish my neighbor was as nice as you. She refuses to budge on this issue. I am working on getting information on how i can legally stop her from exposing me to her smoke. I really appreciate your support. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I will keep you informed.
Thank you very much for your advice. I am looking into it.
