When I Was 7

I was about that age when I discovered my dad watched stuff after everyone else went to sleep. Once I figured this out, I'd sneak behind him and watch what he watched. He kept the volume off or down so much I often couldn't hear it but I watched whatever he watched a whole bunch before he caught me. Back then cable stuff was a lot more tame and didn't show too much. This left me both really curious of what I was missing and wanting to grow up to do what they were doing on film. It was watching these films, with my unwitting father, that led me to understand that my mother's 'discussions' in her bedroom with my honorary 'uncles' was really my mother cheating on my dad. This revelation didn't freak me out at the time because it seemed to happen so often in the movies dad watched that I assumed that it was normal behavior of adults. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I looked forward to cheating on my future boyfriends and husband
