Not Sure What To Do

I guess this might not be a real confession but here goes.

I'm a single mom of two kids, a boy 13 and a daughter who is 12. They're barely a year apart. They have always gotten along well together and truly seem to love each other and honestly never fight. You aren't the first parent to discover this happening, and there are lots of siblings who end up having sex with each other on a regular basis. Their hormones are in full swing. I wouldn't fret too much over this, except that you want to talk to them about birth control (!).

Even if you confront them, it won't stop them from getting together when you're away from home. So protecting against pregnancy is the important thing here.

I know how you feel, and yes this is not uncommon.
I thought that I was being a very smart and cautious mom and I put my fourteen year old daughter on the pill just as a precautionary measure.

I see none of the above think this shouldn't be. You should speak to them in love and rebuke the action. They are too young and definitely siblings.

Can you prevent it from happening again, probably not. But you shouldn't ignore it or in anyway support it. It's very possible they don't know how bad what they are getting in to. My opinion.

Accept it and let them be.

They have discovered a way to protect themselves against Covid and many other nasty but interesting infections.

Just in a very assuring but firm tone( which indicates that you know) tell them to use contraception and maintain secrecy. Once they find lovers for themselves, they will lose interest in each other. Even if they continue having sex later, why bother?
