The Past And The Furure

I became a lesbian sort of in 1958.
I was divorced and I had a neighbor and friend who was a few years older. She was very nice, attractive and quite an independent sort of woman. I sort of got the impression that she might be a lesbian when I first met her and after we became friend she was quite upfront of the fact that she was. She knew that I wasn’t of course, but in a very straightforward fashion she said how she wouldn’t mind making it with me. Of course I was not interested and more or less told her so, although I did feel flattered.
Well, over the next few months the two of us would get together for coffee and cocktails. One day she laughed and said how we could always have nude cocktails. I suppose that I was feel suitably uninhibited, so I said something like, sure, why not?
So we striped and had our cocktails in the buff and this was quite delightful. My natural curiosity was piqued and without any difficulty we started being quite amorous. I was surprised to find myself having the best and most satisfying sex that I had ever had.
Needless to say, I continued to enjoy this with Joan on a casual basis for that entire next year.
Then Joan, who worked for a large corporation, was transferred and moved away. Of course this brought an end to my female sexual dalliance and I had to admit that while I did not find myself with an overwhelming desire to be with other women as such, I never the less missed the female rapport that I had found to be so relaxing and satisfying.
It was another two years before I discovered a friend who had a bisexual side and I picked up where I had left off and I loved this. Over time I had several more romantic female flings and this has continued for the rest of my life. A lesbian? No, not quite. But I think that like so many women I discovred this side to my personality and I must say that I am happy that thedse days women can be much more open about such things.

I agree with you and think the same applies to men. Simple same sex just for its own sake without all the emotional trimmings can be great. And no labels required. We're only here for awhile and might as well sample whatever feels good in the moment.

I remember growing up feeling conflicted on how much I wanted to be a homemaker but also wanted to be with women sexually. When I found out Mormons had plural wives I knew I wanted to be a sister wife and started obsessing on Mormonism. Too bad Mormons gave up on polygamy before I had a chance. I still pray polyamory makes a social comeback like in biblical times
