Wife's Emails

I’ve been married to my wife for almost twenty years, and we have two daughters. She’s a gorgeous brunette and had been a brilliant wife and mother.

About ten years ago, our marriage did hit a rough patch. We were both working too much, not making time for each other, and general life did get in the way. This resulted in me moving out of our home for six months. Thankfully, over those months, we still talked due to our responsibilities with the girls. Slowly the relationship healed and now has never been better; I had always assumed that nobody else was involved.

Last weekend she and the girls were away visiting their grandparent’s; I was feeling under the weather, so I had stayed at home. During the trip, she stopped by the police for having no car insurance. Long story short, the police wouldn’t let her continue the journey without seeing proof the car was insured, so she rang me asking that I go into her emails and find the insurance document and send it over to her phone. She gave me her email code and a quick search brought the document attachment, which I took a screenshot of and sent to her via WhatsApp. All sorted, the insurance company hadn’t registered the insurance correctly.

Having her email open and little else to do, I started to read her emails; I know this is a terrible invasion of privacy. Most were from friends and all very innocent. I noticed that she never deletes anything and went back to when we had separated to see what she had said to her friends at the time. I can’t explain why I wanted to know, but I was in bed and bored.

You’ve probably guessed that I discovered she was having an affair. Well, you are correct; she had an affair with her then-manager at work. The relationship dated back almost a year before our separation. This threw a very different light on those events, and I now suspect the reason our marriage was failing was due to the affair.

Along with emails from her boss that were love letters and describing their lovemaking, there were also pictures he had taken of her and some pictures he’d taken of his body parts. The images shook me up as they were very graphic. Several of her were naked on various hotel beds, somewhere she was spreading her pussy for the photographer. Others with her in doggy position with her bosses cock in her pussy. His cock in her mouth, in the shower, exposing her clit and pulling her tongue out. Mouth open and a pool of cum on her tongue just fucked pussy with an enormous cream pie dripping out of it. Then there were various ones in lingerie posing in hotels, restaurants and our old family home.

I’ve taken copies of all the pictures and emails. I have no idea what to do next; we had been happy, but trust is now totally blown apart. She knows there is something wrong as I have been cold and distant since she came home.

I would divorce her. While reading her emails was an invasion if her privacy that pales in comparison to her actions.

Hey you weren’t taking care of business we as humans need sex. If it bothers you that much ask her what she was doing when you were separated see if she comes clean then if she dose it’s up to u if you can live with it.

Communicate with her about it. See how that goes. Ppl change & situations change ppl. The old her may No longer exist. You have choices but make informed decisions. You both deserve a upfront open honest discussion.

I would capitalize on this. Tell he that you've fantasized about her getting fucked by other men. Tell you want an open marriage and let the fun begin.

I'm sorry abt that. Its normal you feel betrayed. Talk to her. Tell her the truth and pick up from there. The thing is, she stayed with you. She chose you. So, this rocky path will pass as well if you love her. Monogamy is an illusion anyway.

Wow! Of course this is no dear Abby in here but since no one said it I will: you get to forget this and pretend you never read those emails. That’s your cross to bear. And never hold it against her in any way. Here’s the bottom line: if she wanted to leave you she would have. She choose you. Show her you’re worthy of that decision. Oh btw that deviant thinking you had where her affair was the cause of your marriage problems? All I got to say is lol.

Privacy to a certain extent is a noble principle but between a wife and husband, when both expose their naked bodies and minds to each other before and after marriage is a questionable concept.

I would never hide anything from my spouse and would not do something that needs to be hidden.

We can't all the time cite Constitutional principles and legal concepts between an alliance based on trust and should enjoy sanctity .

Divorce her. Past is never past. Time is a continuum and therefore what is done can't be undone.

When there is breach of trust between husband and wife, privacy is just an excuse of an impotent coward to stay quiet.

I agree with the let the past go response. She could have stuck with him but she choose you. If you loved her before you read the emails, why leave now?

My daughter in law did the same to my son. He stuck it out and she learned her lesson and realized how lucky she is. They are stronger than ever.

Fire creates steel. It won't be easy but if shes worth it be the bigger man and forgive her and forget you ever saw those.

Now you know why she was disappointed and bored with you. Don't let that happen again. Start taking her to xxx theaters, dark parks and gloryhole places. She needs a lot of attention and more cock. She wants it and she likes to get kinky. You've struck a gold mine. And the good news is you don't even have to tell her about the e-mails!!

Talk to her about the period before you both hit the rough patch. Why was she involved with him then? Was it this period which led to further deteriorate your relationship for the rest of the time? She then was responsible for the whole episode.
Did she have remorse or corrected her behaviour only because her paramour just used her and what if he had promised her a lifelong relationship with security?
Even if you forgive her, keep the evidence encrypted so that no one can erase the same.Once you confront her with this , don't destroy everything for the sake of "forgive and forget".A copy should be kept safe without her being aware.Destroy only one vopy that is used to confront her.
Don't make an issue in front of your children but talk to her in detail and no threats, no indication of what you are going to do , just plain facts.

Nothing happens without a reason, this accidental finding is one of those instances and how you use this opportunity to manage your life depends upon you.
Good luck.Plan well, don't let it affect your health.

I'm agreeing with the OP that her affair contributed to their marital problems and separation. What I imagine happening was she was ready to leave her marriage, but her manager wasn't. She got played and quickly figured out she needed to get her priorities back in order.

If you don't talk to her about the affair, separation etc., you won't be able to move forward. Oh, ya'll will mark time together, but your love won't grow because by nature you will hold something in reserve because trust has been broken.

You and your wife aren't on the same page. She's thinking she got away with it and hopefully she's trying to make it up to you. While you are simmering, second guessing every moment she spends outside of the house. Yes house. It won't be a home until your anger and angst is removed.

My suggestion would be self marriage counseling, involving reading, studying how to survive infidelity materials and practicing forgiveness and rebuilding a love and faith based marriage.
