Old School White Men Treat Me Like A Lady

I walked out of the building with my boss, he held the door for me and opened the door to his car for me. At the restaurant he held my elbow to walk me to my seat. After studying the menu and agreeing on what I wanted he ordered for me. The conversation was 80 percent work, 20 percent personal. He didn't talk about work until after the personal talk was over. Business talk was intense and he called on me to pay attention. After lunch the valet guy held the door for me, my boss opened my door back at the office and he escorted me into the building, held my elbow into the elevator.

I like being treated like a lady, involved in a conversation, escorted and watched over. These people I work with are gentlemen, smart, well educated, thoughtful. That's why I work here. I'm respected, no one ever brings up that I'm Latina or that I'm a lesbian with a wife. These men are all white, everyone of them and I've learned how to be a good paralegal from them. As far as I'm concerned these men are top drawer, to use my Grandpa's expression.

Is it the GENERAL consensus that lesbians like the gentlemen manners or just you? Did you always like it or grow to like it? Need more info!
