My Mother
In the third grade I walked home from school instead of riding the bus. I walked along stepping one foot on the curb and one on the street. I missed the curb and twisted my ankle and it hurt so much I sat on the curb and cried. A boy who lived in the house came out to see what my problem was. He was a b8y scout and handled my ankle with care. He picked me up in his arms and carried me inside.
He sat me on the kitchen table wrapped my ankle with a kitchen towel with ice cubes. After sitting me on a chair and tried to call my mom. She wasn't home right then and he called every fifteen minutes until she answered the phone. She had to call my father who had to leave work to come and get me. My ankle was sprained and I missed two days of school. My mother was not happy with me because I had gone into the house with the boy. That he took care of me didn't matter.
Many years later I went off to college. A boy invited me into his room. He took off my pants and screwed me. I never told my mother, to her I was a virgin the day I got married and she never forgave the boy who helped me that afternoon.
