My neighbors have a dog that barks all day and night. It drives us crazy. I have said something to them several times and they get snippy with me. The last straw was a few weeks ago when the dog was barking late at night. It had been out all day in 90 degree heat and no one been home to let the dog inside. My husband decided to call the police and report the incident as a noise violation. Now they are insanely mad at us. We have received several nasty notes that are ridiculous. They are trying to twist the situation into our fault for not being concerned for the dog. We love animals and are upset that the situation is being turned around to make us feel like bad people. The point here is you need to respect your neighbors right to peace and quiet and if you cannot stop your dog from barking or keep it inside then maybe you should not have a dog at all.

Calling cops was RIGHT thing to do. Keep a record and report it -- it is a noise violation in most places w/ in city limits -- may want to call Humane Society and see what regulations are. What a pain in arse, huh?

Thank you for your suggestion and support. We are so upset that they tried to turn it around and make us feel like bad people for reporting them to the police.

I mean if you think about it.......it's their fault for leaving the dog out when there gone. They should have more responsibility for there dog and more respect for the people around them. They have no one else to blame but themselves so you did the right thing by calling the cops.

unfortuently there seems to be too many people out there who want dogs but are not prepared to look after them properly.
