A Tale Of Two Women

This one woman I met, 35, very nice. Polite, self assured, competent, a real gem. This other woman I met, 35, a bitch. Arrogant, superior, ardent feminist, vocal, aggressive. So my question is why? One would be a pleasure to come home to, the other avoid her like a rabid dog.

Time passes, I date number one. Things progress nicely. At a party where both women are present the opportunity presents itself and I kiss my date. A simple kiss. Woman number two finds me in the kitchen getting a glass of water for my date and with fangs exposed demands to know why I give favoritism to my date. Why I don't treat her the same.

I stare her down and gently tell her if she was the last creature on earth I would walk right by.

I get reported for showing favoritism at work, for being over aggressive with the second woman and putting her down, and I owe her an apology. Well, being the boss I tell the complainant that she is barking up the wrong tree and she needs to work on her self esteem.

Now, my very nice woman friend and I have a very nice relationship. We've decided that for the sake of propriety she will transfer out of my department, a loss for me and a loss for her. As to the bitch, I'm transferring her to another department, a lateral transfer. A loss for her receiving department. In other times she would be let go for being a strain on other employees, and a misfit.

Apologies for nothing sordid here, just a tale of two women, one who likes herself and one that doesn't. And a piece of advice, hire the first one and avoid the second one. Same advice when it comes to dating.

Dating anyone from the workplace, especially in your own department, is always going to cause problems. Not that she's right, but of course #2 is going to make assumptions. Sounds like the best solutions happened.
