A Love Triangle That Worked
Back when I was in college, I was an older student having served four years first, I had a classmate, a very reserved girl. We were assigned to a joint project, there were three of us and we met at her apartment. After working on the project the third member left and there being just the two of us I pressed my advantage getting a quickie out of her.
Our dynamic changed, she was reserved, cold to the touch, but resigned to her role and we had sex a her place or mine. She became pregnant, and being both seniors and out of a sense of duty I married her, by the judge who married wayward girls. With proof of pregnancy he waived the three day waiting period.
After college we moved to the city where I had been offered a job. She had a second child 20 months later, and chose to stay home. On the outside we were a nice couple, but the bedroom was cold and distant. So much so that I found relief outside the home. One of those girls, Sarah, became pregnant. Before DNA it was blood tests, and her word and circumstance. My wife believed her, the blood test didn't rule it out and the circumstance was plausible.
For reasons I could not understand her biggest supporter was my wife. My wife looked after her baby when she returned to work. They became friends, planning joint activities with the children. All the warmth she kept away from me she showered on Sarah. It took a long time for me to understand, my wife was in love with Sarah. To Sarah she was a good friend.
My wife never once stood in the way between Sarah and me, she wanted the relationship. In time she lost some of her inhibitions and declared her love openly. Sarah I guess today would be called bisexual, but back then she just said she couldn't understand how she could like being felt up by my wife.
I never did find another one, with Sarah fully in my life I was a happy man.
